The JH Ranch is located in Utah and Colorado capturing the best of both worlds. The bulk of the ranch is located in Utah and is part of the Summit Point CWMU in the San Juan, Abajo Mountains limited entry unit that is managed for trophy animals. The Colorado portion is in unit 70 which is over the counter for elk for multiple seasons giving the owner a great opportunity to harvest trophy animals in both states!The land varies from gentle terrain to rugged canyon country providing a very diverse atmosphere. A large portion of the land was historically farm ground that has reversed back into natural grasses and habitat. The land consists of several different parcels that are being offered as an all in one package. The Colorado portion consists of cedar and pinions drifting off into the canyons and is bordered by the Utah limited entry unit. This provides an excellent opportunity to improve water and habitat on the Colorado portion to draw the Utah trophy animals in. Several old homesteads still remain on different parcels showing the historical significance of the area.The ranch improvements consist of a one level ranch home, shop and several grain silos. Each parcel is perimeter fenced.San Juan County is better known as “Utah’s Canyon Country ” which is well known for the stunning rock formations and canyonlands. The ranch borders BLM (public lands) in several locations giving the owner additional opportunities to explore thousands and thousands of acres in addition to the deeded lands. Nearby attractions include the well known Moab area, Monument Valley, Canyonlands National Park, and the Bears Ears National Monument just to name a few.
