Xcel Energy Inc. has asked Colorado regulators to approve a massive $500 million upgrade to the network of meters used to track customers’ electricity use.
Xcel (NYSE: XEL) filed a request with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission for an “Advanced Grid Intelligence and Security” (AGIS) upgrade on Tuesday. A decision is not expected for months.
