In 1991 I started copying papers at a mortgage company for one of my father’s investors as he was a mortgage broker outside of Chicago. A few short years later along with an underwriter, we were transferred to Colorado to open a new region for that company, which grew into a large national wholesale lender. I still collaborate with this underwriter today and she is just one of the special relationships from this career I love.
For the first 11 years I worked for a few national wholesale investors and was promoted into distinct positions; including closing, underwriting, internal sales, compliance, operations, secondary marketing and even running loan servicing. andnbsp;Additionally, even before mortgage loan originators were a licensed industry, I obtained my real estate license to better understand all essential components of real estate lending.
In 2002 from my basement, I opened my first mortgage company specializing in mortgage divisions and consulting for credit unions. I sold that company in 2008, then I founded Colorado Home Mortgages to work more closely with partners, clients, and Realtors locally. Today, my wife, Melinda, and I along with our exceptional mortgage loan originator team continue our commitment to our Colorado neighbors while sharing in our two children’s lives as they grow up during these special years. I remain humble and greatful to still be a reliable trusted resource to the valued clients, Realtors and credit union partners with whom many, I have worked together for more than 20 years.
